San Miguel
Lying approximately 7km inland at the same height with the coastal town of Torrevieja, San Miguel de Salinas is a typical village in the Southern Costa Blanca whose friendly inhabitants live primarily on agriculture.
It has its own health centre, post office and there is a market held weekly. The hill landscape has a citric plantation, almond trees and pine forests. There are several areas that have beautiful views over the sale lakes. The airport of Alicante can be reached in no more than forty minutes.
From San Miguel you can reach the three golf courses of Campoarmor, Villamartin and Las Ramblas within ten minutes and the nearest beach is approximately a ten minute drive.
Golf
The region is home to several of the finest golf courses in Spain, providing a challenge to golfers of every standard. There are 12 courses in the area and several more under construction, so there are plenty of opportunities to play many different courses. Following is are examples;
Villamartin – the 18 hole, PAR 72, 6130m course which opened in 1972, provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Professional/men/ladies tees. Driving range. In addition there are tennis courts and a swimming pool and close by there is a plaza of shops, restaurants and bars.
Campoarmor – this course was opened in 1989 and provides spectacular views over rolling countryside. Whilst a little more forgiving than some of its neighbours, there are water features on several holes awaiting the errant shots !
Las Ramblas – any golfers career remains incomplete until they have played this superb course. Built in 1991 this is a demanding, tight course with hazards of all descriptions waiting to test you. This is an 18 hole, par 72, 577 course with professional/men/ladies tees and driving range
