ARBOLEAS
Located in a privileged area, Arboleas is a typical Spanish village situated in the Almeria province, approximately 278m above sea level, and approximately 8km from Albox.
Arboleas is centred around the church, situated on the edge of the rambla that once ran as the River Almanzora. This growing village currently has 2 rural hotels, 3 supermarkets, a post office, banks, a baker, a butcher, bars, restaurants, a chemist and a doctor who has an English speaking nurse. There is a local school for children under 12 year and a bus service to the nearest secondary school in Albox.
A municipal swimming pool is currently under construction, along with basketball courts and children's playgrounds.
The weekly market is held every Saturday morning where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, clothes, shoes, linen, etc. at very good prices.
Both Arboleas and Albachez are towns, both having Alcaldes (Mayors) & Ayuntomientos (Town halls) but don’t think of them as their UK equivalents, you will probably encounter Christobel or Paco in one of the local bars where they will only be too happy to talk to you.
Arboleas is a very pretty ´white village´ and, as well as its many amenities, there is its magnificent church The coast is approximately 25-30 minutes away where you will find the resorts of Mojacar, Garrucha, Carboneras, and Vera Playa. The roads are quiet and traffic is very light and you will find that places such as Almeria City, Granada, Murcia and Alicante are an easy relaxed drive away.
